Akshat was the Policy & Communications Associate at the MIT Governance Lab (MIT GOV/LAB) where he supported the lab’s outreach and research efforts. He is interested in applied and behavioral public policy, including the effect of informational asymmetry and procedural complexity on bureaucratic corruption. Previously he has worked on U.S.-India commercial ties, renewable energy adoption, and health policy at organizations including the Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), McLarty Associates, and the Cato Institute. Akshat graduated with a dual BA from Columbia University and Sciences Po, Paris where he studied Economics and Politics & Government respectively. He has also previously served as an undergraduate Political Economy fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
