Graduate Research Assistant
Lukas is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at MIT where he studies comparative politics and quantitative methodology. His research focuses on the political economy of development in Latin America, with a particular interest for service provision, local taxation, and bureaucrat behavior. With the support of GOV/LAB, Lukas has conducted field research in Mexico, studying municipal bureaucracies and tax enforcement. He is a graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), and worked as a consultant for the UN World Food Program in Bolivia and Paraguay prior to coming to MIT.
