Awab Elmesbah

Awab Elmesbah is a Research Associate at MIT GOV/LAB where he explores the impact of using technology on power relations in governance innovation. His interests span the challenges of government delivery and economic transformation in fragile contexts in Sub-Saharan Africa. Awab has worked in policy research, advice, teaching, and communication. He helped train government officials, advised government agencies on policy challenges, facilitated cross-sector multistakeholder policy dialogues on pressing public issues, and partnered with civil society leaders on civic education programs. Awab holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master’s in African Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Khartoum.
